  Fumed silica synthesizes from the pure form of silane hydrolysis in a flame of hydrogen and oxygen at about 1000 degrees Celsius temperature. The process uses a metallurgical silicon reaction to obtain the product via silicon dioxide reduction into minerals with hydrogen chloride and cokes. Besides, they help in thickening, and anti-setting, and provide sag resistance in various polar systems.
